Directions:
From Enterprise, Oregon, travel south on Oregon State 82 for about 6.5 miles to Joseph, Oregon; In Joseph, turn left on Oregon State 350 travel east for about 8 miles; Turn right on Wallowa Mountain route – County road 806,for about 5 miles to the cattleguard/Forest boundary at which point the road becomes Forest Road 39 – Wallowa Mountain Loop Road (also known as the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway). Travel on Forest Road 39 for about 5 miles to Salt Creek Summit, The snow park entrance is located on the left side of the road.
User Permits
Get Permits NowSno-Park permits are required in designated Sno-Parks from November 1 – April 30.
Permit information:
- You can move a Sno-Park permit from one vehicle to another.
- You can use California and Idaho Sno-Park permits in Oregon.
- You can use Oregon Sno-Park permits in California and Idaho.
- You may get a fine for parking in a Sno-Park without a permit.
Fees
- Annual Sno-Park Permit (November 1 – April 30) – $25*
- 3-Day (consecutive) Sno-Park Permit – $9*
- Daily Sno-Park Permit – $4*
*Agents may charge an additional service fee.

- Permit agents in resorts, sporting goods stores, and other retail outlets issue all types of permits.
- Get an annual permit online at DMV2U – includes printable interim permit to use immediately.
